Although time trial races don't have as much of a following as road races and criteriums, the race team had it's biggest participation at one today. Six CRT members made the trip up to the John Dechau Memorial Time Trial near Naples today for what turns out is one of the longest TT's you will see on the calendar. 35k of tough racing in 80's and high humidity is not an easily undertaken task, but our riders rode hard and came away with a win! This came courtesy of Bruce Rohdenburg in the Masters 50+ race on his new, ultra sleek-looking machine, with his blistering time of 49:02.1, an average of 26.55 mph. Our next best placing came courtesy of Kent Goben in the Cat 5 race, where he placed 4th in 53:26.6, an average speed of 24.36 mph. In the Cat 4 race, Dave Hansen and Jerry Marble posted 6th and 9th place finishes, with times of 52:33.5 (24.77 mph) and 55:03.3 (23.65 mph) respectively. Brian Klotz placed 6th in the Cat 1/2/3 race in 48:06.9 (27.07 mph average). Tim Andrus suffered back-to-back mechanicals and unfortunately had to withdraw. Congratulations to all on great performances!
