The first multi-stage race of the year at the Tour de Syracuse turned in some big performances by team members. With a criterium race on Saturday, followed by a Time Trial on Sunday Morning and a Road Race in the mid-morning/afternoon, team members had their hands full of racing! Starting of the weekend off with a bang were Ruth Sherman (6th), Eli Robinson (6th), Tim Andrus (4th), and Bruce Rohdenburg (7th) and Jim Reed (10th), who all top-ten'ed their opening criteriums.
Sunday morning brought our lone stage victory of the weekend in the form of Tim Andrus taking the Time Trial for the Category 5 <35 race. Other top-tens were Ruth Sherman (4th) and Eli Robinson (2nd). Last but not least, the road race brought still more top-tens by Ruth Sherman (2nd), Eli Robinson (3rd), Tim Andrus (5th), Bruce Rohdenburg (6th), and Randy Rhoads (10th).
When the dust had settled, our omnium results were impressive! Ruth Sherman turned in 3rd by virtue of a tie-breaker, Eli Robinson was 2nd, Tim Andrus was 2nd, Bruce Rohdenburg was 9th, Dave Hansen was 15th, and Steve Burdette was 29th in their respective categories. Many racers made the trek for 1-day races and turned in some great rides as well. Congrats to all 14 team members who participated and represented CRT well!
